Reference numbering

House rules for customer complaint, CAPA and nonconformance references. Sequences are unique per register and per year, and every number assigned or changed is written to the quality audit trail with the user and timestamp.

Only workspace owners and administrators can change these rules.

Next number in each register

Calculated live from the register. Sequences are validated for uniqueness on the server and enforced by a database constraint per register, workspace and year.

Historical reference lock

When locked, no one — including administrators — can change the reference of an existing complaint, CAPA or nonconformance. The lock is enforced in the database, so historical records cannot be re-numbered by accident.
